Sherrah Fiano comes from the Lacey vineyard in the Tatachilla sub region of southern McLaren Vale. Only a few kilometres from the sea and almost at sea level, it is a cool maritime influenced area of the Vale. Sandy loam over a limestone base, scattered with ironstone fragments.
Grapes were hand and machine harvested. They were left on skins for 6 hours prior to pressing. A cool slow tank fermentation was carried out using mixed culture yeasts . Pressings were wild fermented in seasoned oak and blended back. No acid additions.
Bright and lifted aromas of lemon zest, white florals and hints of sea spray. Refreshing with delicate flavours of citrus and white stone fruits, the palate has a lovely texture with great drive and a moreish finish.
